French mobile network, SFR lost 274,000 contract customers in the firstquarter of this year as the market reacted to the launch of a fourth mobilenetwork in the country. At the end of March, SFR'stotal mobile customer base was 20.843 million.Even though the price cuts caused by the new competitive environment have notyet had a significantimpact in the first quarter, the several price cuts imposed by the regulatorsweighed heavily on SFR revenues: they were EUR2.93 billion, a 4.2% decrease compared to the firstquarter of 2011. Excluding theimpact of these regulatory decisions, revenues were stable.Mobile Internet usage continued to develop with 43% of SFR customers beingequipped with a smartphone(compared to 31% as of March 31, 2011) and a 3.6% increase in mobile datarevenues compared to thefirst quarter of 2011.
